Wolfenstein: The New Order was their first developed title. The game is a single player first-person shooter developed by MachineGames based in Uppsala, Sweden the studio was acquired by ZeniMax Media in 2010. Unlike previous games, it does not have a multiplayer component. The game was released on for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows.
It is the semi-sequel to 2009's Wolfenstein (however utilizes very little from the game and drops any direct references to veil or supernatural) and utilizes id Software's proprietary game engine id Tech 5. Wolfenstein: The New Order is the ninth installment and soft reboot of the Wolfenstein series, developed by MachineGames and published by Bethesda Softworks.
